Overview
Smriti meditation is a guided interactive meditation therapy based on ayurvedic psychotherapy developed by Prof (Dr.) K V Dilipkumar, former Professor, and HOD ,Dept of Swastavrita,VPSV AVC ,Kottakkal.
Life is a journey filled with emotions, and sometimes we face challenging feelings that we tend to push aside. Take the fear of loneliness in childhood, for instance. As we grow, these tucked-away emotions can pile up and affect our mental well-being. In more serious cases, they might even lead to physical symptoms and health issues. That is where smriti meditation steps as a valuable tool.
Smriti meditation helps to release those pent-up negative emotions. It encourages individuals to focus on the present moment, expanding awareness in three directions: the present, the past, and the future, tailored to each person’s needs. By letting go of unwanted emotions, individuals can discover their true selves and approach life with a positive mindset. It’s a beautiful practice that promotes emotional balance and mental well-being, providing a path to a healthier and happier life.

Method of Smriti Meditation
The meditator is gently guided to sit in a relaxed, supine posture. With empathy, the guide chats with the participant, discussing their concerns and encouraging them to set a meditation goal. The journey begins by helping the meditator unwind, being aware of their surroundings, and connecting with their body and mind. Once this peaceful state is achieved, the guide leads the way based on the set goal. During this meditative exploration, the individual delves into their challenges, uncovering the root causes of emotional and physical struggles. Recognizing and understanding these origins becomes a path to correcting negative emotions. With each session, the negative emotions gradually settle, and the person finds freedom from their troublesSpecialties
